” I was taken as an unexpected result of an experimental trial by my royal mother who decided to abandon me even before I could realize that I was being abandoned. She with a lump in her throat and with shuddering fingers( as I always imagine) set me afloat where I was found by a childless Adhiratha who became my father and gave me everything that my royal mother couldn’t; a name(Radheya), an identity ( sutaputra) and a mother(Radha) who despite not giving birth to me never abandoned me.

I learnt this at a very tender age that being a child of a low caste charioteer I must not allow my dreams to soar high and that I too would meet the same fate as that of my father Adhiratha. Iconoclast as I was, I refused to accept that a person could be simply rejected and tossed aside on the grounds of a fault they had no control over, that a person could be looked down upon due to something which was as unfair as A CASTE. So, out of my audacity, I approached Lord Parashurama who after a lot of tests allowed me to become his disciple(also because I lied to him that I was a brahmin).

On my last day as his disciple when my true identity got revealed to him, Lord Parashurama in a fit a ferocious wrath cursed me to forget the divine mantra in the hour of it’s absolute need. I, being robbed of everything, vowed to never let caste stop me. What a fool I was!

I visited the swayamvara of the panchaal princess, the ethereal Draupadi, by whom I was insulted despite being able to fulfill the condition of the swayamwara. The reason being my caste.

I’ll let out I secret today. Yes I was born with a golden armor(kavacha) and earrings(kundal), yes I was born with a charisma no one could match, Yes I have in me the invincibly excellent and impeccable archery skills, yet I am being ostracized on account of my caste. I long for legitimacy. I long for social respect and acceptance.
