Life is full of experiences, some are good while some are bad, sometimes you”ll get happy while sometimes you’ll get sad. Whatever kind they are of, we have to get through them. Each experience captures a different turning point of life. One such experience came to me which made me realize how inattentive and negligent we are towards those things which are irreplaceable and play a significant role in our life. I am talking about the wonders that God gave us.

Last year when I got ill, I could barely do my daily chores. I couldn’t hold the toothbrush or the spoon. Even if I had to get up, I needed someone to pull me. I could not stand for a long time without someone’s help. I felt so miserably weak not because I was physically unhealthy but due to the constant support, I needed even to do those scantiest jobs. A person like me, who knew she’ll be fine soon, was not able to deal with that and there are a whole bunch of people out there who made these kinds of weaknesses their strength. They are those differently abled people, who are suffering from some irreparable losses.

Helen Keller, an American author, political activist, and lecturer was deaf and blind but that couldn’t stop her from becoming a world-famous speaker and author. Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with motor neurone disease but he defied the odds, not only attaining his Ph.D. but also constructing new roads into the understanding of the universe in the decades since. Christy Brown was an Irish writer and painter who had cerebral palsy and was able to write or type only with the toes of one foot. John Nash suffered from mental illness but recovered out of it. Sudha Chandran lost a leg due to a road accident but returned to dancing with the help of prosthetic leg.

You should feel privileged if you have the wonders god gave you. We are so occupied with looking at the materialistic things and crying over them that we forget about the beautiful gifts that we have.

Nothing in this world can make you feel inferior until you want to. If you are determined nothing can stop you. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. If you are determined to see the beauty scattered around you, you are unstoppable.

I believe in Scott Hamilton’s words,

The only disability in life is a bad attitude
