Blue Or Green?

We often come across this question whenever we pass by a public Dustbin,dont we?

It is witnessed that large section of society is completely unaware of the significance of two different colored dustbins.A mere look in both the dustbins shows us that same kind of garbage is lying in both of them irrespective of their uses and difference in color.

The educated as well as elite class of the society makes the same mistake too.Nobody questions the purpose of two distinct dustbins.We usually find these dustbins near parks and roadsides.

The Green dustbin is for biodegradable materials and Blue dustbin is for non-biodegradable substances.

To break it down to you, Biodegradable means those materials which can be used for making manure with the help of micro organisms through composting, aerobic digestion, anaerobic digestion or similar processes.

Whereas the Non-biodegradable substances are those which cannot be broken down by natural agents or micro organisms and such substances also lead to a source of pollution as they cant be converted into a nature friendly form.They are recycled with the help of machines and equipments and such kind of waste damages the environment and ecosystem.

The Green dustbin can be used for throwing plant waste, cotton,matchsticks, fruits & vegetables,peels,human & animal waste,Paper,Pulp and wood etc. It contains mostly the wet waste.As the name suggest green garbage easily decomposes or decays and mixes with the nature again.

Blue dustbin is used for throwing garages like plastic waste(plastic cups,spoons,plates),newspaper, magazines,Nylon material, Bottles, Phones,CDs and Cable wires etc.It is also known as dry waste dustbin.

It is responsibility of every citizen to be vigilant enough and maintain this habit.The distinguished materials makes it less hectic for government authorities to separate the garbage.Indeed,it becomes easier for their breaking down and recycling process.

Small mistakes of the masses creates a hassel for the industries, making the process more difficult,time consuming and expensive.We all need to be smart enough to know the difference between the two garbage dustbins and start implementing it in our daily lives.

We all know deep within that our natural environment is deteriorating day by day due to harmful effects of greenhouse gases and other reasons.Its high time that we contribute our bit by atleast realising the importance of two distinct dustbins and utilise it in the right way.
