Xiaomi, the chinese tech giant has been very popular in India since its very first device that launched in India in 2013. They have surpassed Samsung in the budget segment in the recent few years. And now they are aiming for other companies. One of their biggest rivals is OnePlus. As both of these companies have a similar approach towards flagships. They make flagship phones at lower prices. Prices at which they target a wider audience.

Today, Xiaomi has launched 2 new phones under its sub-brand Redmi, to compete with its rivals. Does OnePlus need to worry about its competition? Let's find out!

Redmi K20

The Redmi K20 is aimed more towards the budget segment. It comes with a 6.39-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED Display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.9 percent. It has 6gigs of RAM coupled with 128gigs of storage in the top variant. As I mentioned earlier that it is competing with the latest budget and flagship phones, it comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a pop-up selfie camera similar to those seen in OnePlus 7 Pro and Vivo V15. The phone runs on Xiaomi's own Android based skin called MIUI which is in turn based on Android 9 Pie. The device is powered by Snapdragon 730 SoC and has a huge battery with a capacity of 4000mAh. The phone has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back for protection from drops. There's an 18W fast charger included in the box. Coming to the cameras, the front pop-up camera is of 20mp and there's a triple camera setup at the rear where the main sensor is of 48-megapixel, telephoto lens of 8-megapixel, and an ultra-wideangle sensor of 13-megapixel.

Redmi K20 Pro

The Redmi K20 Pro is a direct competition to the OnePlus 7 Pro, and the recently launched Oppo Reno. It is powered by the latest high-end processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 855. The top variant comes with 8gigs of RAM, and 256gigs of Storage. It has a 6.39-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display on which you can enjoy HDR content available on Netflix, YouTube, etc. Like its smaller brother, this one too has an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 20-megapixel pop-up selfie camera. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and rear. Software is same as on any other Xiaomi phone, MIUI based on Android 9 Pie. This one too has a 4000mAh battery and a 27W SonicCharge adapter is included in the box. It has a triple camera setup on the rear with a 48-megapixel main sensor, 13-megapixel ultra-wideangle sensor, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x zoom. The main sensor supports 4k video recording at 60fps, and 960fps slow motion video capture. Another cool thing about the K20 Pro is that it has 8-layer graphite cooling system so that the device doesn't heat too much while doing heavy tasks like playing graphic intensive games.

Both of these devices are available in 3 colors which are Flame Red, Glacier Blue, & Carbon Black.

Pricing

The best and the most important part of this article. Let's take a look at the pricing for both the phones.

Redmi K20 - 6GB+64GB @ 21,999 & 6GB+128GB @ 23,999

Redmi K20 Pro - 6GB + 128GB @ 27,999 & 8GB + 256GB @ 30,999

I would say that Xiaomi has priced the phones really aggressively considering the market trends. Especially the K20 Pro as it is the perfect competition to OnePlus 7 Pro. It's good to see these companies compete with each other as it provides more options for us. Will OnePlus have to worry about this launch? Only time will tell.
