Highlights: Kevin Feige denies the possibility of R-rated Black Widow.
Captain Marvel, a recent release form the Marvel Cinematic Universe was the first movie with a female superhero as the lead character in MCU. After the most anticipated movie Avengers- EndGame, a new phase of superhero movies are about to start.

Over the franchise, Black Widow appeared in 6 different movies with no solo movie of her own. But there is officially a Black Widow movie in the works.

Talking about the special powers of Black Widow, she doesn't have any magical powers like The Captain Marvel, Vision, Scarlett Witch, Thor; instead she is a world class athlete, gymnast, acrobat. She is an expert Martial artist and a weapon specialist. So, hopefully, Black Widow movie will be heavily on hard action.

As it relies on hard action, Black Widow was expected to be an R-Rated movie like similar Deadpoolfranchise. But Kevin Feige, the producer at the Marvel Studios, while speaking to comicbook.com in an interview, when asked about the R-Rated Black Widow, he said "It was never going to be. Somebody writes, 'I hear it's R-rated!' And then everybody writes it up."

Scarlett Johansson will act as Black Widow.
While promoting Avengers Infinity War last year, she said "I love playing this character and I think there's definitely an opportunity to explore the Widow as a woman who has kind of come into her own and is making independent and active choices for herself probably for once in her life. She hasn't always had that possibility. If it fit that criteria then, yes, I would want to do it."

The movie will be directed by Cate Shortland an Marvel Studios reportedly interviewed over 70 candidates for the job before deciding on Shortland. They put a focus on finding a female director according to The Hollywood Reporter and spent over half a year looking at the directors before selecting Shortland.

Shortland was to direct the film from a script by Jac Schaeffer, but a recent report indicates Marvel Studios has bought in Ned Benson to rewrite it. The film was rumoured to go into production later this month, but a new listing on Film Magazine Production Weekly indicates that it wont begin until June in the U.K.

So no worries fans :)

This won't be an R-rated movie.

Marvel hasn't officially announced a release date, expectations are that the film will come out sometime in 2020.
