Have you ever seen any mentally ill person in movies?

Well how people get affected and become a bait of these disorders.

It’s because most of the abnormal individuals’’ nature doesn’t comply with natural societal norms or they fall as a bait for maladaptive behaviors.

Then not all people get treated by psychological treatments.

Well many of people out there doesn’t accept help from a psychologist as a stigma relates to it that the person seeking this kind of help automatically proved to be mentally ill (even he/she isn’t )in society.

What are factor underlying this abnormal behavior?

  • 1) Biological factors: these are the result of faulty genes or any bodily problems and mainly in neurotransmitters.

  • 2) Psychological: These factors are originated from conflict within mind or psyches like inpsychodynamic model.

  • 3) Behavioral: These factors are originated from maladaptive behaviors.

  • 4) Humanistic: When individual isn’t able to attain fullest self-potential.

  • 5) Cultural: Conflicts from the outside and not from inside.

All these factors contribute to many disorders and all these disorders are classified in different classifications like phobias in anxiety disorders or obsessive compulsive disorder in which an individual become obsessive towards a certain things like germs a person affected top this always want his/her hands clean and almost all the time use a full soap bar in a day to wash hands or two. Or Mood disorders like depression and bi polar disorder in which a person get through various stages of mania and then depression drastically and suicidal risks are most in these cases.

Suicidal risks are highest among teenagers and young adults and it can be avoided by watching its symptoms like withdrawal from regular work or eating less or loosing interest in everything etc. which can be replaced with various techniques to keep happy the victim and not making them further distressed.

These disorders aren’t only common among adults but children too like attention defiant hyperactivity disorder in which children are impulsive and always on the go. Or autism in which a child loses his/her capabilities to communicate or respond to other people and many more. Or conduct disorder in which a child shows aggression etc.

These all can be prevented before happening if the individual is kept busy in normal life in addition to this if a person falls victim of one of these condition proper care can be used to relieve the victim with proper clinical treatment.
