Is Orange Color Really Dominating Other Colors?

Many of us would have heard the title “Orange is the new Black” - It is an American web series created by Jenji Kohan for Netflix based on Piper Kerman’s memoir.

“The show talks about the women in prison, where the dress color for US prisoner is orange and the difficulties they face in it is referred to as a term Black.

But how many of us know how the phrase "Orange is the new Black" actually came to use?

It came from the popular phrase pink is the new black - a quote from the film Funny Face released in 1957. Where Pink color was preferred over black in the fashion movement and then it was just a trend that followed.Eg. Sachin Tendulkar is the new Kapil Dev.

Coming back to the topic “Orange is the new white.”

As we all know white is the color of prosperity, purity, safety, cleanliness, the color of perfection and color of acceptance. Orange is the color of energy, joy, sunshine, happiness, creativity, determination, success and attraction.

Currently in India Orange is quite a dominating color that is replacing each color in every sector, below are some of the examples:

1.KTM, Royal Enfield, Hero bikes all are changing the trend and people’s mindset who were stuck to white color.

2.Even the cars including Maruti Brezza, Alto K10, Tata Nexon, Honda Jazz are following the trend of Orange color replacing white which was public’s choice.

3.Lastly, I would mention about the current Indian political party which is in power BJP government who also uses orange color as their identity over white color that is adopted by other political parties.

Concluding to the title orange is the new white is just a phrase to describe a new trend overtaking the current trend.
