The internet is a vast place. And with its vastness comes a large target audience for businesses and ventures. One of such businesses which has really started to pick up its pace now is motivational speaking and life-coaching. Now businesses and jobs like these, after a certain point, all boil down to the same content. So to separate themselves, some life-coaches have started giving advices like, “DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR PASSION. BE EXTREMELY PRACTICAL; GOOGLE HIGHEST PAYING JOBS AND ENTER THAT NICHE. PROFIT.” It’s not as simple as that. If life worked that way then within the last 10 years, every job other than computer applications and coding would have disappeared and we would all have been working 8 hours a day with our computers, developing programs and hardware to do all our jobs for us. Oh, and mental health issues would have risen manifold and suicide rates would have increased exponentially. Because everybody, except those actually interested, would be sad and depressed of doing nothing else other than coding in front of a screen. We humans are an intelligent species that develop interests, skill, hobbies, strengths, and passions. We derive pleasure in doing things that we like and gain satisfaction and joy when we are able to make a living off of the thing we love doing. We are not mindless herd followers who are just supposed to opt for the most practical option. That is a survival instinct, which we have the option to ignore, considering that we have developed ourselves and our civilization enough to not have to worry about bare survival anymore, or at least have given ourselves enough opportunities to ensure our survival.

What good is a life, which doesn’t gratify you, give you joy, happiness and bliss? What good is a life in which we have to dig deep for happiness amidst depression and sadness? Life is much more than just practicality. It’s about passion.

And so here are 2 reasons, which will be more than enough, to convince you to follow your passion:

1.You will be able to achieve much more in life, if you are doing something which involves you following your passion:Does this need any more clarification? You will be happy, motivated, and driven to progress. You will be more competitive and will want to be better and more successful at what you are doing, when it is something you love. You will never feel like you are toiling or struggling; you will be enjoying every day of what you are doing. Failure will not seem fatal to you. It will be more like a trampoline for you, propelling you further upwards. Every day will be an adventure. Every night will be in anticipation for the next day. You will go through life with a smile, and that smile will not only be on your face, but on your heart as well. Your life will be what you wanted it to be, not what it eventually became.

2.You will be happier: After a certain amount of money has been earned, all your needs for sustenance will be taken care of. Anything else you earn will be for your lifestyle and happiness. But what happiness will you gain from a life when it involves you spending more than a third of each day doing work that you aren’t interested in, do not like or maybe even hate? Trust me, after a while, life will become an incomprehensible drag of a never-ending and horrible movie with an extremely lackluster script. Want a solution? FOLLOW YOUR PASSION.As I said, you'll be able to go through life with a smile. You will be happier and more satisfied with what you are doing. On your deathbed, you will have a full heart and a happy self.
