War And Peace

There is a lot of importance being laid on the defence sector of all existing governments in the present day. The Rafale deal controversy, the Bofors gun scam all stand as important examples of botched up state priorities. While there is hunger, poverty, disguised unemployment still rampant in our country, politicians are busy pointing fingers at each other, which leads to decreased efficiency and weaker ties within the state. Humanity is perhaps developing at a pace with which it cannot keep up with itself.

The modern era has also seen an exlosion of terror attacks which has spread its tentacles across the globe. Reading instances of this sort truly makes one wonder why humanity cannot strive for a more peaceful world which actually nurtures a sense of fraternity. Growing intolerance, be it of one's religion or other choices in general, especially in India has also become a major cause of conflict. We must celebrate our diversity, instead of using it is an excuse to create distinctions amongst ourselves.
