Computers have been an indispensable part of our lives. Computers serves us variedly to work from home, socialise with our family and associates and also with people who live far. It's one of the swiftest method of working and also acts as a stress buster. But as there is advancements in mobile computing, we are becoming overwhelmingly dependent on computers. Since the invention of not only desktops but also portable computers, people are becoming extremely reliant on computers. The contribution of computer to our modern society is irreversible. But my question is, Is this dependence progressive or we should limit our use and reliance on computers?
Computers largely have been proved to be beneficial to us and have been able to find its way in almost every aspect of our lives. Most of the daily requirements in our work are carried out through computers for savingand and effort consuming. These two fundamental qualities are why we use computers .This is the reason behind increasing popularity of computers amongst all the types of jobs, industries, services and utilities. Dependency on computers is unavoidable. We are becoming increasingly dependent on computers. These 'mechanical brains' made a huge impact on our society.Modern communicative options are also provided by mobile computing.
It is true that the uptake of this technology facilitates a lot of difficult tasks but is this excessive dependency is taking away the goodness of our lives. Availability of Computers affects our lives in many ways positively and negatively. People who are obsessed with computers often end up spending a lot of time chatting with friends or emailing or playing games . By doing this, they are virtually socializing rather than actually socializing which takes away from the reality of life. Dependency on computers through its excessive use also affects the health adversely. When a computer becomes a central point of someone's life , they undergo a change in behavior too. Long term sleep deprivation is also a result of excessive use of computers which results into insomnia, drowsiness and depression of immune system along with poor eyesight.
Computers have been able to regulate and control human brains to a certain extent, they still require human brains to control them. We have to keep in mind that it is afterall a technology which can crash and burn. We should be conscious with our use of computers to have a better life ahead.
