The other day while driving to the examination centre, one of my friends told me that he watched some random "Motivational" video on YouTube and that eventually succeeded in making him leave his smart phone alone for a few months. This sounded quite weird to me at first but then I felt that may be today's generation dwells upon such motivational videos and posts and what not !

There is nothing wrong with this. After all this seems to work for millions of people striving to achieve their goals. If I look at the flip side , a question comes up and keeps nagging around my head that do I really need such outside motivation all the time.

We as humans have an amazing power of memory and the greatest sense of imagination. All these years we have created so much and at the same time destroyed a lot as well. We have nailed in almost all the fields and some fields are still to be unleashed. When there is no limit on possibilities, why have we bound ourselves to the societal norms of classification, discrimination, objectification and so called competition ?

Why have we started this not so sporty game of " push yourself" ?

Haven't we turned into our own Hitler ? There is definitely a big failure on the part of our education system that constantly wants us to be in lead and strive for a conditioned lifestyle. I hardly remember any of my teachers lecturing on how to live my life on my own terms, how to deal with stress, how to deal with toxic people , how to remain out of the expectations' loop.

Every other person today needs some video or some motivational speaker or a book to enable him/her pass the day with a little less stress and anxiety. We have never been taught how to manage our own selves. Trust me even the management students struggle over this. Within a second any random person can spoil your day with his/her comment on your Instagram post. Isn't it true ? Perhaps you might seem to have ignored it but somehow it keeps popping up and you struggle to figure out what actually went wrong that spoiled your mood.

We are the creators of our own stress and of course we are capable of destroying it too. God bestowed us with immense capabilities but somehow we got trapped in this whole task of trying to "fit in".

It's time we unlearn certain things. It's time we introspect and ask ourselves that for how long each one of us would base his/her life on some random motivational video shared on WhatsApp.

Aren't we capable enough to move on ?

Keep moving folks !

This is all it takes :)

Happy Reading !
