26 year old Cheryl was in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend. He raped her, assaulted her and left her when she got pregnant with his child. She wanted an abortion because she doesn't want his child to be born. It's not that she doesn't want to be a mother, but she doesn't want to ruin a child's life in an unhealthy atmosphere where she can't take care of it. But does she really have a choice? I think not, because the Alabama state no longer provides her with one. Instead it will criminalize Cheryl. Why?Because according to the new Abortion Bill passed on 2019, abortion is no longer her right.

Alabama Abortion Bill 2019
On May 15 2019 American governor signed the most aggressive anti-abortion laws in recent American history. If this act is enacted then only the exceptions for abortion will be if the mother's life is in serious danger or the fetus is is some kind of serious abnormality. Otherwise abortion will be held as illegal and a punishable offense. Even in case of rape or incest abortion is illegal.
The law further compares abortion to Holocaust and other genocides. If the law in enacted then there will be only two reasons where abortion shall take place are :-
If the fetus is ‘lethal anomaly’ that means it would die right after birth
If there is a serious health risk for the mother
The legislation does not considers this if the mother is in emotional or mental condition. It will appoint a certified psychiatrist to prove that the woman is really in any ‘emotional or mental condition’.

They said that “ We will show up to fight against the unconstitutional attempt to punish women. Politicians shouldn't be making decisions and it would be best to be left to women, their families and their doctors.”
Young women, old women, teenagers, middle aged women, everyone participated sharing their stories, experiences and protesting against the anti abortion bills.
Abortion is a fundamental right. If the mother does not thinks it is not fit for her child to come into this world, then let it be her decision. She knows best. Trust her, she is not a criminal.
