Rajiv Gauba is a 1982 batch Indian Administrative Service officer belonging to Jharkhand cadre. He currently is the Home Secretary of India.

Education - Rajiv gauba has a graduatee degree (Bsc) and is gold medalist from patna university.

Positions - chief secretary of Jharkhand,resident commissioner of Jharkhand, and as the district magistrate and collector of Gaya,Nalanda and Muzzafarpur districts—before the bifurcation of Bihar—in the Jharkhand government, as the Union home secretary,Urban development Secretary,additional secretary in the Ministry of home affairs,additional secretary in the Ministry of communications, joint secretary in the Ministry of Environment, and as the private secretary to the Ministry of defence in the Indian government.
