Woman, not just a word but an important part of everyone's life. A woman fulfills her role perfectly well in all aspects, starting from a daughter and going further as a sister, a granddaughter, a friend, a wife, a daughter-in-law, a mother and a grandmother. She fits so well in all the roles of her life that each woman deserves to occupy a good reputation in the society. But do she gets, what she deserves? Today itself I was reading something and came to know about the status of women in the north-eastern states of India and I was dumbstruck after reading that. The position of women in those parts of India is entirely in contrast with the states of rest of the of the country. Most of the businesses are run by women in these parts. Groom leaves his home after marriage and lives with bride's family, this is amazing isn't it? The children there get the surname of their mother rather than the father, this was really shocking for a person like me living in northern part of the country. As per data analysis 95% of the people don't know such important and over-whelming things about north-eastern states which is much more attractive. So, it's clear by now that the women of whole country aren't fighting for their rights, there are some states as well where men are doing so, interesting enough!

But I think the rest of the states are completely opposite. The "non-feminist" states where still women are treated as inferiors. Sometimes we don't even feel this. Females are thought to be made for household chores and not for running a business or working to earn money. In many parts of India, women are not allowed to get education. Child marriage is still taking place in India. When we look around ourselves we feel everything is like okay, but it's actually not. In rural India and also in many parts of urban India, females don't get education and married early. This is really shocking that India still witnesses one of the highest female infanticide incidents in the world. Approximately, 117 million girls around the world go missing due to sex-selective abortions, this is like really shocking. But I really don't understand why this happen, there is nothing which a girl can't do.

Moreover, females are merely dealt as sex-objects. Rate of rapes in India is just increasing day-by-day and year-by-year. Rape is the fourth most common crime against women in India. According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) 2013 annual report; 24,923 rape cases were reported across India in 2012 and 98% of them are committed by someone known to the victim. Thereafter increasing tremendously, the reports showed that the total reported cases in 2016 were 38,947. These are just the reported ones but there are cases which remain unreported because of the fear of being criticized and judged by the society. And conviction rate in India remained the lowest as well, which leaves the victims unjust and helpless.

Women are always at fault whether they do something or not. The injustice to women remained constant. They are no less than men, they deserve a way better position. This needs to be understand by most of the hypocritical men who try to show their masculinity and dominance. Women should be liberal and must have equal importance in family and society not just in a few parts of the country but in all. The severe steps and some amendments are needed for the criminals who otherwise are set free now.
