I'll do it tomorrow...I promise
Procrastinator is a kind of person who keeps on delaying his work for no necessary reason. It might be because we all gets lazy at some point of time and keep postponing our work. So at the end it leaves us with a huge panic to complete the work before a deadline is crossed.
We all have a terrible habit called procrastination. We keep on delaying our work and at the end we are all tied up with a huge burden. We are too lazy and we all want to get rid of this habit. So, I am going to tell you how to stop procrastination by a simple trick that I came across some time ago and the best part is it actually works!
It’s a simple rule saying that you just need two minutes to start a new habit. You believe it or not nearly all habits can be scaled down to a two- minute version. For example-
• Like for reading a book, you should first get yourself to read one page only.
• To complete your studies all you need to do is open your notes.
• For running, just tie your running shoes.
The trick behind this is just to make your task as simple as you can. Simplifying things would make you want to do it. You have started doing it so it will help you to keep doing it. Like you have read one page and now you will continue reading it.
People might think that it’s so absurd. But the point is we never start doing things, we keep on rescheduling it. This simple trick helps you to start it and then eventually it will lead us to the point of completion.
This two-minute rule might seem like I’m just fooling you but the real goal of this habit is much more than just a few minutes. I’m not really asking you to read just one page or just put on your running shoes. I’m asking you to continue this until you complete your task.
Whenever you are struggling to do something, try this and you will believe that it actually works.
We must get rid of this habit to enhance our work performance to the best. I understand it is not easy but keep on trying. It will help keeping your mind at peace and complete your work on time.
