Have you ever heard of this term? i have and i never thought much about it until one day i faced it myslef. So let's start by defining what is body shaming. ACCORDING TO GOOGLE BODY SHAMING IS "the action or practice of humiliating someone by making mocking or critical comments about their body shape or size." only if google was completely right..

"Body shaming is a devastating experience that embeds the fear of, unfortunately, your own body, leaving behind a sense of insecurity and an unstable emotional state that is not impossible to overcome. A half filled jar can always be seen in 2 ways and so can body shaming, too, while it initially feels like a devastating experience, but with time it turns into one of your most beautiful experiences, an experience that will turn you into the most confident version of you. It is tough, but that's exactly why it feels the best at the end of a process, a process of transformation. "

I guess now we are clear with the term. I have my own experiences and i guess many of you also have. Let me start by describing myself. I am a girl who is more on the curvy side. I don't have those skinny legs or a perfectly flat tummy, but i love the way i am and the person i have become. Let me share my experience with you all. I was attending one of my college event. I was wearing a long skirt and a crop top which showed a little skin. A friend of mine came to me and out of nowhere he said don't you think you should cover your skin and I was like why? And the answer shook me. He told me that I don't have the figure to flaunt. I could have done two things, either I should have covered myself and have let him make me feel more insecure or i should have given him a piece of mind and moved on with the same pride and confidence. I chose the latter one. To all the girls out there, whether you are thin or curvy don't let anyone make you feel insecure, don't let anyone lower your self esteem. Whether you are curvy or thin it doesn't matter so love yourself, wear whatever you want to wear, and most importantly never let anyone damage your self esteem. you all are beautiful in every way possible. Love yourself, cherish yourself.

nicely expressed. the standards of beauty and perfection has become too narrow for people to fit in. we should learn to acknowledge and appreciate differences in human body, whether its for men or women. do check out my articles as well.
