Be it a student who goes to school, a person who sits in an office for a 9 hours job, or a home-maker, saving money has always been an issue for everyone. And while the latter two have either a direct source of income or someone is looking after them, the former one does not get a salary. What we, as students usually get, is pocket money. And for ages every single person who lives on a pocket money, has always struggled to save it, or to carry it whole month long. People like me, who usually end up spending whole of the cash in the middle of the month, need to be told some ways to save the limited amount of leaves they have. So here are some ways to save money.

1.Divide the total amount of money you get into 30 equal parts. And if your math’s is good enough, the result will be your daily budget. Spend according to it and you will never end up broke in the middle of the month.

2.At the end of the day, whatever amount you are left with, keep it in a separate wallet or a safe place. This way, you are essentially saving money the same day, while having your next day’s budget with you.

3.Start spending money in smaller bills. See whenever you spend in value bills, you don’t effectively realize the amount of money you are spending. And a major reason of that is, you get the change back from the shopkeeper. So your brain does not develop a sense of expenditure there, just because you are getting some cash back. On the other hand, if you develop the habit of giving the exact amount of cash, you will be more conscious about your expenditures.

4.Start using the online wallets. They always have some cashback offers going on. It is not bad at all to get a cashback of Rs.50 when you are recharging your phone for Rs.300. collecting the cashbacks whole month long, you will realize that you have a substantial amount of money in your online wallets.

5.Start keeping a Rs.5 glucose bar with you. Now how will this help you save your chips? So I have talked to a lot of people and they say that they spend a huge amount of their money on eating junk food and stuff. And we don’t even realize, but sometimes we do it all out of boredom and just to get a break from what we are doing. Also the price of small snacks are quiet elevated. So essentially, you can save yourself some amount of calories as well.

6.If the daily budget thing does not work for you, or if you have already tried that, then try this. Do not take your whole pocket at once. Take a certain amount of it. This essentially means that, if you get Rs.5000 a month as a pocket money in your account, by your loving father; do not take it out at once. Withdraw Rs.2000 at first and get going with it. The fact that you have taken out less money will be there in your subconscious mind and you will be more aware about your expenditures.

Be disciplined, try and find yourself some part time work for the extra cash, those all are also the ways to earn some extra bucks, but that is not possible for everyone out there. What is more important is, spending money in an organized and well planned manner.
