Peek Into The Future : A Sci-Fi Tale

I was woken up by Amelia at about 7 am . The first thing she told me was that i had a missed call from one of my friends , Sophie from Quarks , a planet discovered by our scientists including my parents a couple of years ago . Sophie and the people of her planet were all blue bodied creatures with hair that used to glow in sunlight .

‌I asked Amelia to display my schedule for the day . Her eyes shone and I could see my schedule on the front wall . She was the latest version of A-2090-series of robots launched just a few months ago . Gifted by my parents on my birthday , she was a lot more than a non-living thing for me, a good friend and an advisor. And funnily enough , in the present year i.e. 2090 , people seemed to have more robots than friends . Huh!! , all thanks to the technology .

‌After having a quick shower in a fully voice - automated bathroom , I had my oats breakfast prepared and even tasted by Amelia ( she had taste analyser as her feature ) . I still had some time before my school to start so I called back Sophie .

‌"Hey Soph , what's up ? "

‌"All good Rebecca , you tell "

‌"Nothing much , just getting ready for school , umm.. you called me in the morning ? Something important ?"

‌"Oh yeah , I was asking if you could come over this weekend , actually it's momma's birthday and it's been a while since we've met so it would be great to see you here !!"

‌"I'd be glad to come but my parents are out of planet this week , actually they have gone to visit Pluto for some research purpose , so I have to take care of the house , I'll visit you some other day , Apologies !!"

‌"Oh okay , it's alright "

‌"Have fun Soph , bye "

‌"Bye "

‌I hung up and boarded my A-200 , a flying skateboard and left for school waving a bye at Amelia . In the way , I saw some lesser privileged children with their broken , old versions of skateboards given to them by the rich people simply because they came in possession of new ones . Unfortunately despite all these technological developments , poverty was still prevalent in the society .

‌Thinking about these children all the way , I reached my school finally and parked my skateboard . Then I reached my class which was fully equipped with high class technology . It contained automatic air conditioners with temperature sensors , voice-automated smart boards , digital softboards which displayed new notices and updates automatically ,black ceiling which was a large LED in actual used for showing videos related to topics and automatic chairs of course .

‌I had history in first class and we were being taught about some excavation sites .

‌Suddenly , I heard my teacher shouting " Get up Sheetal , it's not your nap time " .

‌And I woke up with a start in a classroom of Hindu college with several faces of my friends staring at me and the angriest one of my teacher .
