Have you tried dancing in the rain? Or dancing your heart out in the middle of a cardio session? Have you ever tried learning the art of using dance moves to show emotions that you were holding back for a lot of time?

Dance- one word, thousand emotions, millions of moves and billions of beats. Irrespective of gender, caste, race, community and nationality, one thing that binds us together and is common to us all is, rhythm and harmony. We dance to express happiness, love and joy. We also dance to show the inner wrath, anger, envy, jealousy and hatred. We dance to delineate patriotism and love for the motherland. We also dance to spread smiles wherever we go. Dance is connecting hearts and stirring souls.

There are various forms of dance practised in India and all across the globe. India is famous for its multi cultural amalgamation of dances. We have Bharatnatyam, the mother of all classical dances performed by both male and female dancers. It is famous for its beat,expressions and unique moves. In Uttar Pradesh, the dance which is famous is kathak. The word Kathak means to tell a story that is a Katha through dance. Kerala is famous for Kathakali. Its elaborate makeup and attractive gestures are famous throughout the world. Kuchipudi from Andhra Pradesh is also popular for using instruments like violin, tambura and flute. Similarly, bhangra from Punjab, garba from Gujarat are eminent folk dances that have been existing in India since time immemorial. All the dance forms are equally loved and practised.

Western dance forms include ballet, tap dancing, jazz, salsa, waltz, tango and the list has no end to it.

But every dance form has a single message and that is let loose of all inhibitions and conquer the world.
