Many people confuse protein and amino acids. I’ll try to clear this in as simple way as I can.

Amino acids are basically the building blocks of protein. Amino acids combine together to form a structured protein.

There are approximately 20 amino acids that are required by the human body, out of which only 10(including histidine-only for infants) classified as essential amino acids as these cannot be synthesized by the human body.

Protein is a chain of amino acids joined together by chemical bonds.

Sometimes people who are taking amino acid supplements say that amino acids are easy to absorb rather than food protein so they start avoiding food protein.

Protein is definitely easy to absorb when they are in broken form(amino acids) , and so the supplements are, as they consist of these broken amino acids.

But that doesn’t mean that you completely stop consuming protein through food.

Such people can opt for simple protein options.

Amino acids Vs Protein is never the right question, instead, it should be “Good or Bad Quality Protein”.
