Surrounded by computers, mobile phones (mostly smart phones), tablets, smart watches, and other smart machines, it would not be an exaggeration to say that we are the living beings of e-age (like it was stone-age).For the ones who can afford, the majority of their daily lifestyle has become automated. People are telling their smart devices to remember the places where they put their things decreasing the chances of getting frustrated because you forgot where you kept that and you need that urgently. Already feels tensing! Phew!

Everything smart requires intelligence a prerequisite. And all these machines behaving smart require artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is a revolution happening in the world and affecting everyone here in some or the other way. But artificial intelligence can impact education in a never-imagined manner.

1.AI may revolutionize the grading system.

Artificial intelligence may be used to grade students which can prove to be a less hectic way for teachers and tutors. Teachers can grade students in an already prepared points-to-be-attained manner or multiple-choice performance trackers. Artificial intelligence can help teachers create report cards in a more holistic manner encompassing academic and extracurricular skills in a minuter manner.

2. Saving a lot more quantity of resources.

While working with smart learning technologies and using smart boards to teach instead of traditional blackboards and chalks or whiteboards and markers can do well without having to use the alcoholic ink and dust producing chalks. Students too can use ipads or tablets or laptops for taking notes thus saving a lot of trees from undergoing strokes of the axe only after monitoring the use by the students and making some policies so that they do not get distracted midway in the classes. These notes can prove to be a boon for the one who may not be able to attend the classes due to any reason. The days of dilemma before handing your notebook to help your friend have gone. You can just copy the notes and send them.

3. Artificial intelligence may make the syllabus more comprehensible.

AI can be effectively used to summarize chapters, break it into points such that to make the text more comprehensible and creating customized mind maps, flashcards, etc. which can be used to learn things in a fast and easy way. Also, the syllabus can be segregated and sorted according to each student's needs and learning capacities so that the students with below average grades can improvise using the personalized information accordingly. Students with above-average grades and faster learning abilities can use the AI to grow themselves with more knowledge while other students learn.

4. It may change the way students learn.

Teachers teach the students in their own defined way and many times it may be a case that students can't resonate with the wavelength of teachers thus falling behind the ones who can resonate well with them. Here comes the role of artificial intelligence-driven software which caters to students' learning needs in each one's manner. Also, many basic things do not need a physical tutor for example typing. Tailor-made software for each and every student may teach them these basics with instructions driven theme. These can focus on students' weaknesses and make them use the interface for strengthening their weaker areas. Adaptive learning already has roots in education through programs like Khan Academy, Unacademy, etc.

5. Less fear of answering wrong in class.

The learning based on trial and error could be made less intimidating for students using artificial intelligence. The mere thought of not having any idea about the answer or failing in tests is damn frightening. The software-based learning could prove to be a lesser daunting alternative for such students. With interaction being solely among the student and artificial tutor, the student may be able to study in an atmosphere that is totally free of any kind of judgment from peers or teachers.

6. Teachers may do their jobs in a different manner.

New technology and artificial intelligence paired together may change the roles of teachers in the near future. Though no one could replace the role teachers play in a student's life, the area where the teacher plays the role could be affected and being changed to act mainly as a facilitator and perform their duty being a bridge between the students and the smart learning platforms.

7. System of feedback and reviews may be revolutionized by artificial intelligence.

Software programs that may get driven by artificial intelligence may help students giving feedback about teachers and vice versa. Also, it can help school authorities assess teachers in the required fields on the basis of their performance and thus getting a conclusion of how they have performed and where they can improve and the way they can improve. Also, students can give feedback without having to face the teacher in the real world and thus can be free while letting his views out. These kinds of AI enabled software can entitle support and also act as a grievance redressal platform if they have any.

Thus, there are many ways AI may affect the education system. Also in the ways which we could not ever think of now. Most of them will be only in the direction of making the process of education more easier by making resources more available and providing better explanations for complex topics by developing programs which may be custom-tailored for each and every student according to each ones' learning speed, grasping power and learning capacities.

But the role that teachers play cannot be shunned immediately as teachers are a prerequisite for students to adapt to these new learning technologies and methodologies used. Also, the number of sincere efforts and care and compassion that a teacher puts into the learning process of any student can never be ignored.

We only can wish that this unknown and untamed arena of Artificial Intelligence can be controlled and synced to meet our needs and make our lives easier than becoming a hazard for our future generations. The developers and scientists have to keep this in mind while working to improve our experiences.
