Star wars, Harry potter, Fast and furious, DC Cinematic Universe and MCU are a few of the highest grossing franchises in the world, currently. Having sold X-men and Spiderman copyrights to avoid bankruptcy many would have laughed if someone had told them that, MCU will be one of the biggest franchises within a decade. It would be fair to say that nearly half the population associate themselves with MCU(you know what happened to rest). The “Marvel(lous)” journey is one to celebrate.

Every journey hits a low point somewhere down the track but MCU began their journey from ashes. Robert Downey Jr, not a big star back then starred in MCU’s first outing Iron Man I. The start was what one would call a “Dream start “. Iron Man I ticked almost every box, it made the fans happy, it was commercially successful and created a buzz. One of the biggest pluses with MCU has been the line-up of movies. With the success of successive films (no not the incredible hulk) it clearly seemed that MCU had already mastered the ability to foresee.

It is not just that great films make your franchise successful but releasing those at the right time does. MCU usually have the line up for the next three-four films and this helps them in many ways. When a universe is being created the events of one should affect the other, when everything is planned beforehand the continuity can be easily be worked. Foreseeing also keeps the fans excited and wanting for more, this aspect was successfully exploited by MCU for it’s commercial success. A franchise can’t survive if it keeps giving one flop after the other.

Right after Iron Man I, The Incredible hulk was released and it’s safe to say it didn’t go well. But MCU stands tall despite few of its defeats because it always has another movie knocking the audience’s door, giving something to cheer about and this is exactly why MCU have mastered the ability to Foresee (just like Drax and camouflage. Both go so well together).

MCU is currently star studded and most of them have actually become stars after joining MCU. This star value along with the ability to market products, good scripts, great production design, creating an universe, promotional meets, the failure(s) of rival franchise and not to forget those special cameos by “himself” has put MCU above the rest.
