UberAir is uber’s Elevate program that will allow you to travel and experience aerial ridesharing to avoid those busy traffic chaos. The program will let customers book an aerial ride with just a tap and get a flight on demand. First, the plan is to partner with three launch cities with the Dallas and Los Angeles as the first two and a third International market.

Recently, In Japan uber announced the shortlisted countries that could host its flying taxi service. The list includes Japan (Tokyo, Osaka), India (Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi), Australia (Melbourne or Sydney), Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) and France (Paris).

Every year millions of hours are wasted on the road while commuting from work and home. In many global megacities like Mumbai, the average commute exceeds a staggering 90 mins. This all leads to less time with family, less time at work, more money spent on the fuel and a marked increased in our stress levels.

But imagine, reducing your 90+ minutes stop and go commute from Gurgaon to your office in New Delhi to merely 6 minutes.

The Uber Elevate Program reduces the traveling time from a particular city to another which takes a lot of unnecessary time when the journey is done by road and gives you the time you own.

Uber says its e-VTOLs (Vertical Take-off and Landing) would take under 20mins time to cover a distance of about 40 miles which is nearly 2 hours by car. The goal is to start operator demonstrator flights in 2020 and begin the commercial operations in 2023. Till now only these 5 countries have been shortlisted that would take up that third international market spot for uber elevate program.

Uber Elevate Program is looking for cities with aspirational vision who are investing in their transportation systems and wish to bring uberAIR to market for their residents as quickly as possible. Hope, that Indian cities will be finalized as the third International market for UberAir and this would create a good urban mobility in Indian Transport.
