Under prolonged stressful situations human being is prone to stick around stress eating. By the term stress eating, we mean high-calorie intake of food under intense stressful situations. Apowerful magnetic kind of attraction felt towards junk food is multiple times in harm. As we all know that junk food is unhealthy, eating it in an unpleasant and stress alarming environment triggers harmful effects.

A research conducted on rats showed how the brain responds in such situations. Humans and rats are most alike and the research as well as reliable and evident to be trusted on. The results proved how eating calorie food in a stressed zone and eating without such a displeasing environment creates a vicious circle of weight gain.

Consumption of sugar and salt creates an elevation to stress busters. Thinking how getting onto your favourite big tub of chocolate ice-cream will empathise you and give you all that you need that very moment is not the optimum solution.

Here are certain strategies to be looked on for shunning the high-calorie consumption of comfort food.

Try to analyse the situation instead of avoiding it
Sometimes pondering on the basis of how it all began leads you to the stage of overcoming it. Do not hype and work on the solution.

Phone a friend
Sometimes it’s better to spit out all you’ve stored in your baggage of emotions. Calling a close friend will be beneficial instead of building branches to the problem encountered.

Draw your attention to work
Sitting idle will only give you stress. You can work upon your pending tasks. Let it be office work or assignment, housing work or figuring out something you should do to put your attention elsewhere.

Look for quality people over quantity people
Another important strategy to be adopted is looked for quality people (that is your family member and close friends) instead of quantity people (the number of friends you have on social media). There is no harm in being active with social media stuff and increasing your friend’s number but having a few to talk will only provide you comfort in the long run.
