Value Education-Need Of Time

Value education is an activity through which people give moral values to each other. Values work as guidance star and help us to achieve our goals. Without values, a person is like a directionless ship sailing without any aim. The important spiritual, moral and social values which form part of Indian cultural heritage are courage, truth, joy, respect of all religions, peace, courtesy, etc. Value education enhances the personality of a person. A moral person gets more respect and fame than an immoral person. God makes human being as a noble animal but we are losing our nobility day by day because of greed and for the so-called money thing. In today’s scenario, value education is on the verge of extinction just because of the greed or competition, and people are losing their moral values.

People have started neglecting their moral values while competiting with others. It is very painful to know that this problem is leading to increasing crimes like murders, rapes ,and terror in the country because the generation is not familiar with the value education. In today’s world, a man becomes the enemy of others. We are at the primitive stage because of the lack of moral education.

“Don't make your need, your greed”.

Again and again like a boomerang, the question that bursts out is “where have the values actually gone”? For some people it may not be a big issue but if we analyze the whole situation this is a very serious issue which is destroying the future of our present and upcoming generation. Every day in newspapers and television we read and listen about various crime and unethical activities happening in our society. According to the reports, about 60% of teenagers are involved in these crimes.

But another question is that if this problem persists only among our young generation or it is also affecting the life of the elders of the society. Parents are like a mirror to their children who show them their real side, helping them in facing every difficulty of life, help them in taking the right decision and the values of life. But think once that will things go right when the parents themselves are not aware of moral values? What will they teach their child? The situation will go worse because every child follows their parents because at the beginning of their life, they will learn everything what their parents teach them. So, it is very important for the parents to inform, to teach, to aware their children about the importance of moral values.

But as we see as a student, the children spent most years of their years in school. So, it’s the responsibility of the schools to teach each and every student about value education and make them a better person.

“Purpose of education is to moralize and socialize the people”

To improve this situation, the government should also join their hands by organizing seminars, awareness programs, etc. But we can improve ourselvesfirst by ending greed and the hunger of money because the attachment with materialistic things makes people blind and they forget the values of their life to fulfill their needs.

At last, I would say that human life is doomed without values. Really it is the time when we all should realize the importance of value education.
