“F.R.I.E.N.D.S.” – is one of the most popular television sitcoms of our time. It was on 22 September 1994 when it was first aired, and the world received one of a kind sitcom which connected to people, which made people understood the importance of friends, relations, and life.

It is impossible to say as to how this television sitcom changed the future of sitcoms forever.

It has been cherished and loved by many, and it can be noted that it has a huge fan base, and that is the reason itself that even in 2019 it is the most-watched show on Netflix and Netflix paid $80million to keep it running.

• In 1990 the co-creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman originally called it “INSOMNIA CAFE” from which it was changed to “Friends Like Us,” then it was “Across the hall,” and it was again changed to “Six of One” and eventually the name that was finalized was “F.R.I.E.N.D.S.” itself.

• The names of the main characters of the show were named after another show “All My Children” (1970) Joey – Joey Martin, Chandler – Chandler Family, Ross- Ross Chandler, Rachel Greene – Janet Green, Monica- Monique Cortland, Phoebe – Phoebe Tyler Wallingford.

• Bruce Willis appeared on the show because he lost a bet with his co-actor Matthew Perry (Chandler) while filming “Whole Nine Yards” (2000) and he donated his earnings to charity, and to think no one could defeat the great John McClane.

• Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) didn’t know how to play the guitar, and she didn’t like it at all. Moreover, when Lisa announced that she was pregnant, the scriptwriters had to include her pregnancy into the show as a plot where Phoebe had triplets for her brother – Frank Junior.

• Matthew Perry (Chandler) is well known for his sense of humor, and this was the reason that only he was allowed to be part of screenwriter, and on multiple instances, his pranks and punchlines were included in the script.

• It was in the year 2016 that the identity of an infamous supporting character “Ugly Naked Guy” was revealed which was played by – Jon Haugen.

• When Matt LeBlanc (Joey) auditioned for the show, he was almost down to his last 11 dollars, and on receiving his first paycheck, he first bought himself a hot meal.
