The story, Gone Girl, is about a couple who, once in love, now hate each other. On their marriage anniversary, the girl went missing and the thrill began.

Nick Dunne, the husband, is the owner of the bar named ‘The Bar’ and was once a writer who lost his job in the great recession. Any Dunne, the wife, was once writer too but has lost her job and gone missing on her 5th marriage anniversary.

The police department get to know all this when they are called by the husband, to find a chaotic living room and clumsily wiped kitchen with blood on them.

We see Nick’s side as well as Diary Amy in part one of the book. The situation at present looked rather suspicious to me as well as the police. Slowly, the search deepened and evidences started pointing towards Nick being the murderer. Nick finds himself in a strange situation where he can’t tell the truth. The story seems to open several twist and then we are suddenly hit with a... okay I’ll call it a mountain. I mean the reality start unfurling itself and, mind it; it is not what I expected.

The story, at first, seemed clear enough and I thought, yeah I know what is gonna happen now. I really was disappointed and thought what the hype was all about. But once the second part of the book started to reveal itself, I got to know all about this story.

But hello! Never judge a book without reading it till the last page. You might be amazed to find that what seemed to be a boring and straight forward story could turn out to form thrilling stairs which we readers step one at a time. The next step is visible only when we step on earlier one.

Sometimes, it made me shiver after thinking how someone can be so painstakingly careful to attempt something like that. What they need to do, just for the sake of revenge. At last, I found that both of them are guilty in their own ways.

I liked this book and will recommend you to read this if you want some mystery and severe plot twists in the story.

At last for those who’ve read it:-

SPOILER ALERT

1.Do you found yourself a little harsh on Nick after reading the first part or was it only me?

This book didn’t explained what happened next. I mean there is a gaping hole about Amy. What happened to her why she didn’t went to prison, after all she needed Desi. She had also hurt others; Nick forgave her but what about others?
