The space is a vast ocean of knowledge and mysteries. The various treasures hidden in the cosmos have always been cynosure for the scientists of the world. The astronomers around the world are always devising new methods and machinery to master the outer space and study the formation of the universe. This has lead to a race of explorations among the countries and their different space research agencies have pulled up their socks to be on the top.

So here is the list of the leading space agencies of the world (in no specific order) according to Forbes:-

Roscosmos-

The Russian space agency, previously known as the Soviet Space Program, is the oldest space agency. The Russian space agency was set up in 1930. The Soviet space program worked well and good till 1990 but was shut down in 1991. This was replaced by the Roscosmos Space Corporation, the state space agency of Russia. The Soviet space program had paved the way for space explorations. They were the first one to send a manned mission to space, an animal to space, satellite to space, first spacewalk, etc. The Russians have ruled the world of space in the era of their dominance(1930-1991).

NASA-

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the American state space agency, is the most renowned space agency of the present time. NASA has been a worldwide brand for space explorations after the collapse of the Soviet Space Program. They were the only reliable agency for the launch of satellites and other space missions till they have started getting competition from other state agencies in the recent time. NASA has a number of records in its name like record for launching space probes to every planet of the solar system. The first man to set foot on the moon,Neil Armstrong was also sent by NASA's space shuttle.

CNSA-

The Chinese National Space Agency is the state space agency of China. It is the only space agency to send humans in space without the help of any other space agency. The Chinese also launched a space station of their own but it re-entered the Earth on 2 April,2018. The Chinese space agency also has a remarkable place in the space industry.

ISRO-

The Indian Space Research Organisation, the state space agency of India, is the new shining star in this industry. ISRO was established in 1969 and has proved its value in the recent time. ISRO is renowned for launching projects at minimal cost and that too in an efficient way. ISRO holds the record for launching 104 satellites simultaneously, reaching Mars in first attempt, etc. The Indian space agency had been considered not at par with the rest just a few years back but its continuous strive has made it among the contenders of the world.

ESA-

The European Space Agency, is an intergovernmental organisation comprising of members from 22 nations. ESA is a huge organisation with minds from different regions under one roof. ESA has a wide set of equipments and plays at par with NASA. Infact the two agencies have worked together in a number of projects and achieved greater heights. The European space agency has worked in collaboration with NASA, JAXA, CNSA, ISRO in many space missions. Their high-tech equipments have recently made possible for the astronomers to prove the correctness of the Einstein's relativity equations.
