Youth: Love V/S Career

Walking on the road of life, almost every youthful mind comes across a point of dilemma, which requires a correct choice to be made, without any room for delusions. This obvious dilemma revolving inside the brain is deciding upon love and career.

Love is an emotion around which all our feelings get confined. Career is the progressive pathway which directs an individual towards a better and successful future in terms of name, fame and money.

One of the biggest muddles in the lives of youngsters is to carry forward their relationship and goal oriented career simultaneously. They find it really difficult to focus on the two at the same time when both love and career require equal commitment and attention. Just concentrating on the career development gradually ruins the relationship while the complete devotion towards a relationship leads to distraction from ambitions.

As per my views, the actual botheration is not the choice between love and career, but it is the inability to balance both of them. The fact can't be denied that both love and career are equally important. So how can one opt between the two?

• Money can't buy love and happiness.

• Love alone is not sufficient for the survival in this world.

Just imagine you choose love and gave up on career, despite being aware that your interest, potential and continuous striving can bear a fruitful result of a successful career. After a passage of time, when reality strikes you, will you be able to forgive yourself for destroying a bright future? Having a sound career gives a sense of accomplishment and self worth. Love can wait if it is true but career can't. People who accomplish great success in their careers and establish themselves in a secure position, are more willing and comfortable to devote themselves in their relationships.

Now, let us consider the other phase of the situation where love is sacrificed over career. No doubt, you have achieved a much successful career and a wealthy and prosperous life but isn't it all worthless when you have no one to share your happiness and sorrows. In the long run of life, one needs to have emotional and mental support and the strength to provide such support lies only in loving relationships. Moreover, a true and supporting relationship will always be an aid and encouragement towards your success. True love provides the strength to overcome the failures and is there to celebrate all the achievements. Our inner self remains incomplete without our true love.

A life that only has room for a career, or that includes a consuming love that stifles personal development, is not likely to be a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. The delicate balance between love and career needs to be maintained to live life to its greatest potential.
