Royal Challengers Bangalore which is often known as RCB is a franchise cricket team based in Bangalore, Karnataka that plays in the Indian Premier League. It is one of the original eight teams of the IPL which had made three appearances in finals (2009, 2011 and 2016) and one appearance in the final of Champions League T20 in 2011. The home ground of this team is M. Chinnaswamy stadium. Royal Challengers Bangalore is currently captained by the captain of India (Virat Kohli) and is coached by former international coach, Gary Kirsten.

Team history

In their inaugural session at 2008, RCB has bought many top international players of that time like Ross Taylor, Rahul Dravid, Jaques Kallis, Anil Kumble etc. and the under- 19 winning captain of India, Virat Kohli. However, they just managed to win only four matches out of fourteen due to the poor form of some players.

In the 2010 session, RCB signed up several players like Kevin Pietersen, Robin Uthappa, and Manish Pandey and give a fantastic performance in many matches. They played at the finals against Deccan Chargers but unable to win the final.

After that RCB signed and bought two of the terrific hitters like AB De Villiers and Chris Gayle with the help of whom, they created many records. Chris Gayle has the record of highest run scored in an innings which is 175 against Pune Warriors and it stills standing tall.

The upcoming future

This team may not have won any of the titles but it is considered as the most entertaining team of whole IPL. No one will forget their best matches. The highest individual score of Chris Gayle, the highest partnership of Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers was fabulous. RCB holds both the highest and the lowest score by a team- 263 and 49. We hope that this team will keep on entertaining us and also hope to win the IPL title with some more new records.
