India is a very colourful country with different style of clothing.
UTTAR PRADESH
The dress code of this state is most native and western wear. But the traditional outfit of women are Saree or salwar kameez and men are dhoti and kurta pajama.

PUNJAB

Salwar Kameez including Churidars are worn by the punjabi women. And the men wears Kurta Pajama with a Pagdi on their head. The women also wear Ghagra but Pataila Salwars originates from this state. The punjabi men and women Jutis as footwears as it is in their tradition.

JAMMU AND KASHMIR

The traditional dresses of Jammu and Kashmir are made up of cotton, silk and wool with beautiful embroiderary. Women of this state wears a Pheran cloth with antique jewellery and Men in the state wear Pathani suit (outfit with salwar and kurta).

RAJASTHAN

The people of rajasthan wears beautiful and colourful attires. The men usually wears Pagdi on their head with Dhoti Pajamas or Angrakhas. The women wears Ghagra and choli or Odhni on special occasions. The bright colours and the simple and unique jewellery always steals the heart.

GUJRAT

The men of this state wears kendiyu or kurta on top with dhoti in bottom. And the women of Gujrat wears saree, chaniya choli and salwar kameez.

MAHARASHTRA

Men in Maharashtra wears dhoti and kurta and pehta at head and the footwears are simple for instance sandals. The attire of womens are 9 yards long saree which gives a similar look to that of a dhoti. They do not have any special headdress for their head, they just cover it with the saree. On any occasion the women go barefooted but usually they wear simple sandals.

TAMIL NADU

The south india is famous for its saree attire. The women of tamil nadu wears saree in offices, home, parties, or any sort of occasion. The Kancheepuram sarees are very famous in the south. The men of tamil nadu wears Lungi which is the most common for the whole of the southern india.

ASSAM

The eastern india's famous dress code are Dhoti and Gamosa. The tradition of dhoti can also be seen in various other states but Gamosa is a rectangular peice of cloth with borders on 3 sides to cover the upper part of the body. The Assamese women wears Mekhela dress. The tribal men of assam wears a phagri( a turban) and women wears Rigu which is a long peice of cloth worn from the waist till the feet.
