Flashbacks can warm you up from inside, but they also tear you apart. Memories are dynamic. If you remember something in the context of a new environment and time, or if you are in another mood than in general, your memories might constitute the new information. There is one common assumption in perceptional psychology that we cannot remember every incident or occurrence of our lives. Our memory use to gather or concentrate that part which is most influential.

Memory can be think in terms of stages to understand it as a whole. These stages of memory delineate the length and duration that particular information remains available to you. Sensory memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory are three stages of memory that depicts the information and thoughts you have experienced. The information processing initiates from sensory memory where the information is gathered through your five senses and remains there for an vastly brief period of time. Then the information moves to short-term memory which holds that information of which you are actively thinking about for a very brief period for time. Lastly the information forwards to long-term memory where information could be hold sometimes permanently.

The worst experiences of life can bring you to the door of trepidation and even to the depression in many cases. How good it would be if these nasty thought could get deleted from the memory forever ? Yes, it is presumable to manipulate memory artificially, it is possible to hack traumatic memories. The experiment was firstly performed on rats and mice because we are really very similar to non-mammals like rat and mice in many important ways and human brain works in same way in similar circumstances. This was done with many different ways like administering xenon gas (an anesthetic) in rats to switch off their negative association of brain.

In recent experiments, scientists exposed participants to abominable content to form an unwanted memory. Then they were told to trigger that unpleasant content they had memorized before. At that time the participants were administered with with an anesthetic known as propofol, after which scientists concluded that the participants could not recall the unpleasant memory that they previously memorized. This method could be helpful in diminishing the effect of abominable content that one had experienced and never want to trigger it. The things we remember or which remains in our brains defines the true health of mind and body, so it is essential to cut off that nasty part of memory which can make you low on future.
