Women also known as the goddess in our culture, how millions worship an idol but will treat the said goddess brutally in their respective homes. Since ancient times women have been stereotyped in the most typical way that they should belong behind the four walls of their home. They never dared to question anyone because patriarchy teaches you that. It also teaches us that we are always going to be below and men always have the upper hand and if that one woman out of hundreds tries to rebel she is crushed first by her family, society and then by people who despise her. What happens then? It is still a considered as a very obvious mystery. Men who try to support women’s equality are said to be impotent hiding behind a women and supporting her. Some men cannot bear such comments from others and start to treat the women in their homes like slaves. It can be his wife, daughter or mother. Women make the most sacrifices the least they expect is to be treated equally but that obviously makes the other gender very insecure of their sole power. Since birth, we are shoved with stereotypical comments from everyone around us. Sometimes we are able to voice our opinions and sometimes it’s no point as our pleas go unheard just like our existence is treated.

"Cover your face you do not want to be seen here, do not wear that it’s too revealing, she asked for a divorce! how dare she, she is too fat how can I let her do modelling, she is too dark they will reject her, she is pretty but her body says otherwise she’s no game for me, she has a bad reputation all she does is hang out with boys, I’ve seen her smoking god knows what kind of upbringing she must have got, oh her father is a drunkard she must be too, she has a boyfriend how can her parents allow that, she is almost 26 and not married her future is doomed, she should learn how to cook first education for her is not so important, she wants to work after marriage how can she even have such thoughts."

These are some of the stereotypes one usually hears and frankly speaking it makes people sympathetic towards you but only if you are a women you actually know how horrible all these sound. It is more disheartening if these comments flow from a women’s mouth because you feel like questioning so many things but then again it feels as though they have accepted the stereotypes associated with them. In the twentieth century where the world is progressing but the mindset of people has stuck to the past.
