In past few years, climate change has been a hot topic across the world. Climate change has took the world by surprise. To add to this surprise, I would like our world community to know at least a brief about climate change and how it can affect us in a big way.

So basically Climate change means an average change in the global temperature. Climate change is also alternatively connoted as Global Warming. The earth average temperature has been rising at an alarming rate. Gases like Carbon dioxide and methane exits in the air, thus warming the earth surface by trapping the heat known as greenhouse effect. These gases are generated mainly by anthropogenic activities like burning of fossil fuels, incomplete combustion, power plants etc. So, it’s time, we need to take steps to reduce and save our Mother Earth.

Fight for climate change is not new and can be traced to the Earth submit in Rio de Janerio, 1992 conducted by United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(UNFCCC). From this submit, every year a conference is held as Conference of Parties(COP) to bring member countries together to fight climate change. The latest COP24 was held in in Poland 2018. However, Intergovernmental Panel on climate change(IPCC) conducted an assessment which indicated that If we do not minimise the Global warming in the coming future, the world should be ready to face chaos. Frequent rainfall, tsunami, rise in sea level, shortage of food, lack of clean drinking water, human displacement, economic losses due to natural disasters will increase drastically.

Likewise, Paris submit COP21 in 2015, asked members to keep the average global temperature under 1.5C° and at the most under 2C°. There is a lot that need to be done. Everyone, has a role to play and save our planet in what ever possible manner.
