Because There Is So Much More Than Just Chetan Bhagat

I wanted to write this list because many people wanted to start reading but didn’t know where to start, so this was supposed to be a beginner’s list but then I came across people who had many prejudices against books written by Indian authors, because the only books they had read by an Indian author was from Chetan Bhagat, Sudeep Nagarkar, Durjoy Dutta, Ravindra Singh. So this list will only have books written by Indian authors. I feel the need to clarify, I have nothing against Chetan Bhagat and company, the thing is, we probably have a finite time to read, and there’s so much good literature out there, then why would spend your time reading mediocre content?

This is a list of 10 books as a starter, now if you haven’t ever finished a book you started there could be several other reasons, other than the book bore you. If initially, you find it difficult to focus, it's understandable, you don’t have to necessarily finish the entire book at a go, but don’t give up very fast. However if after 5-6 chapters too the book doesn’t seem to interest you read something else like I said before our time is finite so why invest it in reading something that doesn’t even interest you? If you want to read foreign authors, just google books for beginners, just for the sake of easing into it I’ll suggest reading Papertown by John Green but later quickly move on to other authors.
