A job interview is one of the most important part towards your career path. The purpose of an interview is two-fold. It shows the employer what you can actually do for the company. On the other hand, it gives you an opportunity to assess whether your qualifications and career ambitions align with the position.

Making a good impression is really very important at the start of the interview so that you are called again for the next round and a job offer. Therefore, there are certain points you need to keep in mind before you attend a job interview.

Arrive early

Being punctual is something you should practice in your everyday life. Greet your interviewers and wait until you are offered a chair.

Be neatly groomed

Apply perfume or deodorant but a light one. Don't come with a chewing gum in your mouth. Ensure your mouth doesn't smell. Men must shave. Women shouldn't apply too much make up. Light lipstick is okay. Nude colours are best to apply. Don't wear jazzy or bright coloured clothes. Choose subtle or earthly colours as they are pleasing to the eye.

Maintain a composed body posture

Your body posture can speak volumes. Sit upright, smile and always look alert and interested.Be a good listener and a good talker. It is said 'familiarity brings contempt '. Suppose there will be some questions you do not know. Straight way say that you don't know. Don't lie and make stories.

Research the company beforehand

Before attending an interview, you must always do some research about your prospective employer and the job role for which you are being interviewed.

Stay focused and be relevant

When you are asked to say about yourself, focus on your experiences, accomplishments and strengths that relate specifically to the job. Give a quick overview of your greatest achievements and strengths

Conclude the interview on a positive note

Don't ask about salary, bonuses or holidays at the first interview. However, know your market value and be prepared to specify your required salary or range. Keep your conversation work related and don't go off track with personal details.

By doing this it becomes very easy for you to answer to the point when interviewers ask you about the company and how are you interested in this and you can portray well before them your vision.
