As the world progresses into the deep techno-world, the diseases associated with it are rising. The Clinical psychology is among the top most branch of Medicine. And the Psychologists have the most respect but they comparatively didn't have ‘a lot’ patients earlier. That scenario is changing now. Patients now get admitted for Mental issues too.

Reasons lying behind that are the increase in stress and workload levels, decrease in sleep hours, insomnia and many others.

Every year Cambridge university does a survey and finds out the most famous and discussed word of the year. This year the word was "Nomophobia".

Nomophobia is an eight year old word. An institution did a survey in 2010 to prove that a major population gets worried and stressed during the time when they do NOT have their Mobile phones with them. This was then termed 'No Mobile Phone Phobia' and later Nomophobia.

It is now lately that it is being accepted by the doctors as a phobia. Analysis shows that 66% Americans are affected by Nomophobia.

Till recent years, the men in the house left for work or the children left for school would return at the end of the day with no source of communication during the whole day. There were no drastic issues with that. Life was totally normal then. Nomophobia is an indication for such a change in the mentality in such a short span of time.

The Era of smartphones have penetrated our minds and without phones for an hour, increases the anxiety and restlessness.

Even if you do not want to call anybody, but having a phone along gives a self confidence that you'll be able to call if need be. And that is Normal. In case you forget your phone home or the battery drops dead, you tend to get worried about not being able to call. That certainty of calling somebody when needed, is suddenly lost. We are constantly reminded that we do not have a phone and we might want to call someone.

Even we would say that 'it is okay to forget Phone at home' and that 'it is not a problem'. But that is the Brain talking. Our Mind does not let the Brain do the talking when we have moments of Nomophobia. This is where the Phobia becomes active. Anxiety and restlessness are the first symptoms.

But in India, even today there are days when the ladies keep their phones at home until their husbands or sons have their Phones with them while going out. So, Yes the Indian ladies are still safe and Nomophobiais yet to attain its full potential.
