Shameful! Aunty asks men to 'rape'' women wearing short dress at a cafe in gurugram.

On 30th of April ,2019 a video got viral on different social media platforms about how a middle aged woman was confronted by a group of young ladies in Gurgaon, Haryana after she allegedly asked men in a restaurant to rape them as some of them were wearing short skirts.

A video which has gone viral on social media shows some young women cornering the older woman and threatening to make her video "viral" if she doesn’t apologise for the rape comment.

The incident took place ina café where a middle aged women started commenting regarding the length of the dress a young girl named Shivani Gupta was wearing. The girl was with her friends who turned and went down to the women. The women then had the audacity to order Shivani Gupta to ‘sit down ‘ again in a tone that was totally unacceptable coming from a complete stranger. Her friends did not comply her if she wanted to say something important.Surprisingly the women asks “are you comfortable in your clothes”to which Shivani replies “Yes completely” and started to head back to her table. When the women rose her voice and said “ are you comfortable with men staring at your bare thighs “the infuriated women felt it as a her duty to moral police them. Making statements like “ do you its because of girls like you that rape happens in our country”, “ ypu encourage men to rape” this is where girls got uncomfortable and decided to leave . this when she asked all the men in the café to “ please rape this women who you see wearing short and revealing clothes”. After the incident at the restaurant, Gupta and her friends confronted the woman at a shopping centre nearby where they insisted that she apologise. And what we see now is the outcome of very brave decision. In the video, Ms. Soma Chakrabarti, the perpetrator, is still in denial , won’t apologize for her heinous statements.

However, women are always being blamed and harassed for wearing clothes of their choice.
Shivani shared the video on Facebook and writes in her caption: "Today my friends and I were harassed by a woman at a restaurant for me wearing a short dress. This middle-aged woman you’ll see in the video addressed seven men at the restaurant to rape us because she felt we deserved it for wearing short clothes and bashing her unsolicited opinion."

In the 10-minute video posted on social media, it can be seen the young women confronting the aunty in the shopping centre. They also asked her to apologise, however, she refused to do so and tried to avoid the group.

When the women repeatedly asked her to apologise, the woman asked the store staff to call the police.The video had gathered more than 1 million views on Instagram and 32,000 views on Facebook.
