Jim Kwik. The Journey Of A Boy With A Broken Brain To The Man With A Super Brain

The accident!

Jim Kwik was sitting on a chair in his classroom. Suddenly he hears a Fire engine siren. Jim Kwik who sees firemen as superheroes lifts his chair and moves to the corridor to watch them. He stands over the chair to watch the firemen. Jim Kwik was late to react as his fellow mate pulled his chair and he got his head severely injured with a pool of blood around him.

Effects
After that accident, Jim Kwik was never back to normal. He couldn’t remember and understand things. He struggled to cope up with schooling as he said once that his heart would beat out of his chest whenever his teacher asked him to read aloud a book in front of his classmates. He still remembers a teacher talking to other teacher pointing him out and naming him as “a boy with the broken brain”

His parents were very protective. But Jim never gave up! He taught himself by reading comic books every night under the blankets with the flashlight. By doing this every day he taught himself how to read in three years. X-men is his favorite comic just because he was bullied the same way as the one in the X-men comic.

The Book reports

Finally, Jim got a chance to have some success in school. It is about the submission of a book report. Students must submit a report after reading books on a specific topic. Jim’s parents encouraged him to read about Leonardo Da Vinci since he had a similar learning disability just like him. Jim got all fired up and read more than 100s of books about Da Vinci and created the report.

Set Back
Having a perfect report, he went to school. But, suddenly his teacher instead of asking him for his report, asked him to give a presentation on what he has read. Again, Jim's heartbeat increased and was thrown back to the days where he would just cry in front of a circle when asked to read a book aloud. To get himself out of the situation, Jim lied that he didn't do the report and at the end of the day he threw the report into the dustbin with zero marks given for his report submission.

Came back stronger!
Unfortunately, again he fell down hitting the floor while coming out of the library. His weight got reduced to 117 pounds in two days. The picture of Albert Einstein and his quote on the tea mug in the hospital is what motivated him again.

The mug read “The same level of thinking that created your problem, will not solve your problem!” He came back and thought himself how to learn things quickly, increased his memory power and learnt a lot about brain. He started helping others with the knowledge that he gained through learning.

One fine day, he got a call from 20^th-century fox and was asked to give training to his workers to increase productivity. After seeing his work, the chairman of the 20^th century offered him to be in the shooting sets of his favorite comic X-men for the last 30 days and took him with the entire x-men crew in the x-jet with Jim sitting in between Jennifer Lawrence and Halle Berry!
