It might seem unknown to many of us what Déjà vu actually is! It is basically a feeling which people experience. Some people have it often while some people don't have it that often. Coming to the exact meaning of Déjà vu, it is a French phrase, which means 'already seen'. It is a feeling a person gets in which he is sure about the fact that he has already experienced a current situation even though he couldn't remember anything of that sort happening prior. This could only be an imagination also.

In fact we can relate Déjà vu with a strong feeling of familiarity. Some researchers say that it is related to the dreams. Also, Déjà vu is more common at the night than in the day time. So, the people who tend to remember their dreams have more chances of experiencing Déjà vu than the people who don’t remember their dreams. Also, people who travel a lot have chances of experiencing Déjà vu. Some people believe that an experience or event must have occurred with them in a dream while some people firmly think that it is a past event or experience that actually happened. It is very weird that, seeing a very specific incident or an event that happened in a dream actually happening almost exactly the same way in real life. It can be imagination too. Déjà vu is also like, sometimes when you see a stranger but he looks incredibly familiar to you and you have no idea why? This feeling is actually Déjà vu! It is a kind of a strange or mysterious feeling.

This reminds me of a Déjà vu experience that took place with me and my sister. It was a Sunday morning, me and my sister were riding a bicycle. I was behind her and I suddenly had a feeling that my sister just lost her balance and fell down. So, to make sure that she was fine, I called her name and told her to be careful. After a few seconds, she lost her balance and injured herself. This was a weird Déjà vu incident that happened with me.

At the end, what is the conclusion? Is Déjà vu a quick look into the past or the future? Is Déjà vu a sixth sense? The answer is no. It doesn’t show us the past or the future it’s just a feeling. And obviously not a sixth sense, it is basically our brains playing tricks on us. It can be a neurological symptom. It’s making us believe that whatever is currently happening has already happened before and we are just remembering it currently. It’s actually a strong sense of remembering and it’s very common and interesting to know about.
