This is the story of a family which suffered intense trauma and near-death experience from their immediate relatives. Though later it was found that that inflicted trauma was intentional, yet this story is worth telling. It would not be fair for the family if I reveal their real identity so all the names used in this story are fictional and have no co-relation with anyone.

This family consisted of four family members:-

Aditywa- Father
Avni- Mother
Avantika- Daughter
Amber- Son

Aditywa grew up in a joint family and had faced many troubles in his childhood due to a shortage of money. After all, growing up with seven siblings was not an easy task. Though despite all the problems, he was a bright kid and at a very young age he managed to get a scholarship admission in the best boarding school of the area and even passed his matriculation examinations with flying colors. But then the tragedy strikes and he lost his mother, the one person he found heaven into was gone and it broke him to the extent that he lost hope. At that time two of his elder brothers were already married and well settled but they chose to do nothing to provide him some healing. At the verge of his demise, his father held him and made him take a U-turn in life towards a righteous path.

That U-turn shaped the whole life of Aditywa which led him to become a successful manager, marry the perfect girl and raise two amazing kids of his own. But one of the biggest weakness of Aditywa was his love and affection for his siblings which many a time made him throw his honor on stake. Avni though was a compassionate mother and capable homemaker, she shared her husband's flaw of not being able to say no to the extended family. Why so? Honor....What would people say? Adding to it Avni has a slight memory issue where she uses to forget the simplest thing which was used as a weapon in this event to intensify the level of trauma.

This event has a lot of backstories which I would like to recap in as short as possible and move to the main event. Avantika, the daughter, is a real innocent girl unaware of the misfortunes which she was about to suffer and she too was never able to recognize the intentions of the person she was with. One such person was her cousin, Kamini, the daughter of her eldest uncle, was a year younger to her. For her higher studies, Kamini moved to the same city where Aditywa and his family used to live from the last ten years. Traditionally, it is custom in Indian joint families that when someone is traveling to some city or town and if some relative resides there instead of finding own accommodation they prefer to stay at that relatives' house. Kamini's father, Deepak was the most cunning amongst the eight siblings and openly claimed that he can take advantage of anyone any way he wants and no one can question him. Here too in order to save some money, he insisted Aditywa to keep Kamini in his house for a month until he can arrange a pg for her. Unable to say no, Aditywa allowed Kamini to live there, but he was unaware of the intentions Kamini had for this family. That one month went well and Aditywa stayed Kamini's legal guardian for two years till she finished her higher studies. Another interesting fact about Deepak's family which Avantika told me was the history of boycotting people once they had taken advantage of them. But Aditywa was confident that Deepak won't harm or boycott his own brother. He was so naive.

It all came down to the night when Kamini' a results came out came she was supposed to go for her counseling the next day. Everything was in a festive mood. Avni had cooked her special chicken recipe with pulao and chapati. After all, Kamini was also like her daughter. Here comes the Act 1 of this dramatic event when all of a sudden, Kamini went into the kitchen and asked Avni for her matriculation certificate which she claimed to have given to Avni to keep safely. Avni recalled no such event happening and informed that she never ever received any documents from Kamini to keep safely. Kamini claimed that she saw Avni keeping the file of her documents in her personal wardrobe. Avni's first instinct told her she never received any documents. But her faulty memory made her doubt her instincts. She finally agreed to check whether Kamini was right. At this moment, the situation in that house was so chaotic that the moment Aditywa arrived home from the office, before taking a breath of relief he was informed by Deepak that Kamini's documents are in his house and he has to find it any way possible. Avni was going through her wardrobe, having Kamini follow her like her shadow. Avni opened the wardrobe and searched every corner but there was no trace of documents. Avni was surrounded by anxiety and tension. What if she really kept the document somewhere and forgot? But what was really happening she saw after the devastation was done.
