The Position Of Women In India

Indian Womenhood is on the way. The century of slavery are over for them. they are comming into their own. Today women enjoy equal status with men. Women's rights

are secured under the constitution of India-mainly equality, dignity and freedom from descrimination. The status of women in India has been subjected to many great changes over the past few years. With a decline in their status from the aincent to medieval times, to the promotion of equal rights by many reformers, the history of women in India has been eventful.

In modern India, they enjoy perfect equality with men. She is no longer a slave at the mercy of men. She has a voice in shaping the density of the nation. We have women in different role as adminestrators, governors, doctors, teachers, officers, educationists

and even in defence services. In a free india they had right to vote. This gives women
the voice in the government of the country. Our constitution has done away with all destinctions based on religion, race or sex. A women is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.

A woomen is like a tea bag, you can not tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water. In aincent time It was generally seen that womens had lower status with referance to power and influence than men in all spheres of life-family, community, religion and politics. Till recently, it was held that up to marrige, she is protected by her parents, during married life, she is looked after by her husband but now all these things are changing slowly and gradualy.

Today the view of our society is changing towards womens, and for this revolution a big
credit goes to our Government who had lounched many programs for empowering the
womens in our socity, like "Beti bachao Beti padhao",

"Pradhan mantri Matriva vandna yojana"

In our ancient india the contributin of womens in any field is very low or
negelegible but Now the time is changing and now our womens are also in
a race with mens and giving a strong containdership to the mens in every field.
And we all know that for development of any country first develope your womens
then only your country can develope.
"Educate your women first and leave them to themselves then they will tell you what
reformes are necessary for them. Women will work out their own destinies".
