Life itself is a mystery and also full of varied experience. Some experiences are so strange, so unearthly that we can find no explanation for them. They remain with us as unsolved my stories thought of our lives. I remember one such experience which we had after our board examinations. After the stress and strain of our board examination, we plane for some adventure to freshen up our weary minds Suraj, Kiran, sunny and I decided to go tracking in the foothills of the parasnath hills. We were not experts bud we did have some idea about tracking and camping. We were really excited as a wake up the next morning.

We left our houses with great enthusiasm. We had planned to camp for the night at the foothills and then proceed upwards on our tracking expedition early the next morning. We reached our camping site in the midst of the forest. " How weary are my spirits!" said Kiran in an exhausted voice.

"Cheer up Kiran, for your sake we will set up our camp right over here," I said trying to motivate her. Being used to the lives of the city, Its people and its hustle and bustle, the forest seemed very quiet and dark. Although I enjoyed it, the sound of an Owl hooting in the distance and the chirping of the crickets did sound somewhat eerie. We collected some dried twigs and lit a small campfire. As we sat around we asked Sunny to sing a song as she sings quite well. At that moment we say a man and his son quietly walking out of the forest and walking away in the other direction.

Suraj said, "look, deb, who are those people walking in the midst of the forest, and that too so late in the night? It seems as if he is a negative of this area. Don"t you think it will be helpful for us if you ask him the direction to the trekking route?" I called out " uncle.... oh hello! Excuse me! please, could you tell us the exact location from where the trekking begins? can you help us and tell us the best way to reach there?"

The man looked at us with a stony quietness for a moment and the answer in a cold, Husky voice "girls I must tell you'll that a mishap has occurred. The Gulmohar bridge which connects this forest to parasnath hills has collapsed this evening only. Lost of people are unable to reach their destination. It will take a few days for the repair and reconstruction of the bridge. It will be better if you'll cancel this trip and return home."

Saying this they both walked away, finding into the darkness. Late next morning we reached Kiran's house as it was the nearest. I picked it up to glance through the news. We were shocked to see the front page of the newspaper.

The headlines red Gulmohar bridge near parasnath hills collapsed. Ten people injured two crushed to death." My heart raced as I read the whole news. Apparently, there weren't many people on the bridge when it collapsed. All had run away and escaped except for a young man and his seven years old son. Reportedly they were right at the center of the bridge and were trapped between the heavy iron railing and solid concrete and were therefor crushed to death! A cold shiver ran down my spine when I saw their picture in the news. Could it be possible that the two people whom we had met last night in the dark of the forest were the ones who had actually died in an accident that afternoon? To this day we have been unable to solve this mystery.
