It was Mumbai that realized there are two faces to a big city-The rich living in posh localities and the poor living in slums. I realized this when I went to visit my aunt Pinki who has called us over to attend a familyfunction.

When I reached Mumbai I saw the people very welldressed and all the houses looked very attractive. Thepeople live in apartments that were furnished with alltypes of facilities and comforts. The people didn't have towait for anything. The children were well mannered and self-confident. They were playing in the park and they all had a bright smile on there faces. They were all enjoying themselves.

Aunty Pinki took us all for a picnic the next day. We allwent to Juhu beach. It was a very awesome and analluring beach and I was greatly excited. We were all enjoying our family picnic. then I saw a girl who was begging for some money from the passersby. I felt very

bad for her and went towards her but she left the beachand started walking. I followed her and soon I saw a place which made me feel very perturbed.

It was a small shanty colony and people lived in very small houses they did not have even the basic facilities and they have to wait for hours to fetch waterfrom a public tap outside. The drains were clogged and dirty. Heaps of garbage lay scattered everywhere. Thechildren were dressed in shabby and tattered clothes andsome were even whining for food. The area was verydirty and unhygienic. I was shocked to see that the place

did not have any proper drainage system. The place wastotal mess according to me.

But as I looked closer I was amazed to see that although the people were poor and lived in a condition that waspathetic, yet they were happy and contented. I wasamazed and I learned an important lesson that day. Irealized that problems and difficulties do exist in life. Sometimes they are visible and sometimes they are not but even then we should always face our problems with a cheerful smile and be ready to deal with them.

That day I felt the difference and I saw the gap that existed between people living in big cities. Like a coin that has two sides I realized that a big city like Mumbai alsohas two different faces.
