In the modern world, technology does not only touch human lives at every juncture, rather it has taken over our world today. Interestingly we have been in the quest for technological perfectionsince time immemorial. Men have always been masters in the art of perfecting things. Even theinventions like that of the wheel were made with

the specific purpose of helping a man in his march towards civilization. this or any other suchdevelopment in technology has also helped him to imbibe the human element within him. Technology suddenly did not erase human qualities from men; instead, it helped them to become better human beings.

Our world has been through various faces of technologicaldevelopment and each face has made it's own uniquecontribution in the field of technology. Be it Da Vinci or newton, the pioneers of technology have been many. Each one of them has had human integrity and human dignity. JRD Tata, one of the foremost leaders to implement technology in India is still respected for his values and his ideals. Technology didn't harm him. It helped him to realizehis dreams of improving the lives of millions of people. A pessimist would say technology leads to erosion ofhuman values, but as an optimist, I believe that the quest fortechnology is the coulomb's quest, which leads to new horizons. A good example is that of Neil Armstrong's one a small step, which in reality was a great leap only because of technology. Having made a giant leap man did not in anyway lose the human element within him. Rather his understanding of his universe as a whole became better. In the fact he has got a better perspective regarding the importance of human existence in this universe, and how to make this gift of life worthwhile.

Technology does not in any way compel a person tocompromise on his human values on the other hand it aidsin developing them. People have a tendency to harp on the

shortcomings of a thing and technological advancement is no exception. But more often then not it is a victim of misrepresentation and misinterpretation. Actually, it's good

qualities outnumber its bad one. Technology has helped us evolve through ages, and is still helping us. It can not erodethe human element, which is intrinsic in us. The only thing which can erode humanity in this world are human beings

themselves.
