Yes! So I am in my final year of college and yes the next big step is to step into the real world.
Everyone starts with school where they have a soft cushion for 10 years. This cushion makes them care free and makes them start their teenage with comfort and excitement.
As we approach the last two years in school, that are, the 9th and 10th classes, this is where we start to get advices from our elders and the reality behind these two stages from our seniors. Elders start telling us to buckle up and start studying seriously to get into the junior colleges and keep telling us that we have to leave our cushion and step into the the real world and we will have no one but us to support ourselves. The seniors giving us nightmares about our board exams and the teachers start teaching us regressively.
Then comes the real world everyone was talking about. The time we step into junior colleges. But those two years become a bit harder cushion than before but soft enough to be carefree for two years. Then as we enter the second year in our junior college, the same advices, nightmares and teachings start.
Then we step into the semi real world of college where we spend 3 to 4 years of our life. The years where we cry, laugh, enjoy, give happiness, take happiness and make relations for life. Now comes the actual real world. The final year of college where we have to decide our future and all the decisions lie in our own hands. Not parents, not friends, not even our enemies or anyone else. Only us with our decisions in our own hands. The time where we have to decide what to do, when to start, where to go and what to achieve. Whether we want to study further or whether we feel we can stop with our degree and start working.
This year is crucial for me too. Of Course, our parents and family will always be with us, but an anticipation, an excitement, a little bit of nervousness and a feel of being responsible and having decisions in our hands.
Well this is to all the final years who are ready to step into the real world including me 😉. A dedication to all of you with a bit of my best wishes.
Enjoy your Final Year Jitters!!
