Mental health is such a taboo topic, especially in India. Many are not aware of its existence till date. And many who do know about it try to brush off the topic saying that it is not a big deal.

People have the misconception that just because they cannot see an actual illness or symptoms, they do not consider it to be a disease.

But mental illness is as much of a disease as cancer. It impacts you in a similar manner.
Depression is one of the most common types of mood disorder under mental illnesses currently. Almost 300 million people worldwide are facing depression. And ignorance is not going to help reduce these numbers.

The fact that people do not give as much importance to mental health is the reason why there is less initiative to take care of your mental health.

Anxiety is a feeling of restlessness and a state of panic that one feels in the most normal situations. It makes a person overthink to an extent where they absolutely destroy their self confidence and live in complete self- doubt.

Anxiety is literally making you think about stupid things tot such a level that t makes you panic about every situation and in serious cases, ends up killing you.

Your mind has the power to completely destroy your life and you need to make sure that along with your body health, your mind is at peace too.

There are psychotic disorders like schizophrenia and others. Eating disorders like bulimia.
If any of these illnesses are not taken seriously, they could be life threatening.

The stigma about going for therapy and getting treatment needs to change. Being afraid of people saying “have you gone mad?” is really not worth putting your life at risk.

Talking to someone when you feel disturbed or just different is good. Getting help is always beneficial.

Everyone suffers from some kind of mental trauma because of the life we lead and the situations we are exposed to, but taking care of your mind is extremely important. And everyone should be made aware of the importance of taking care of the mind.

Mental health is almost disguised and will take the life out of you. It will drain you and make you extremely tired and unhappy to the point where you feel worthless and pointless.

Do not forget to keep your mind, body and soul healthy and at peace.
