My First Visit To Goa

Like everyone, I also wished to visit Goa, at least once in my lifetime, with my friends. My wish fulfilled when my college arranged an Industrial Visit to Goa. We all started enthusiastically from Coimbatore and stopped in Manglore to board the next train to Madgaon,in Goa.

SCENIC BEAUTY OF KONKAN

I would suggest anyone to visit Goa to take the day journey,as the Konkan railways run along the Indian West Coast parallel to Arabian Sea and Western Ghats. The train passes through many tunnels and bridges. If you take any overnight train you will not be able to see any natural beauty en route.

After reaching Madagaon we went to the resort near Colva beach and we enjoyed the beach view from the resort,we stayed. Our three days of stay in Goa was totally amazing and we visited many beautiful places that made ourselves come out of the shell and enjoy.

Some of the places we visited are,

COLVA BEACH

It is the oldest,largest and the most spectacular beaches of South Goa. The beach consists of about 25 km of fine powdered white sand. In the colonial days it is used to be the retreat for Margao’s high society.

AGUADA FORT

This grant fort was build to prevent the entry of ships into river Mandovi. Thus protecting old Goa from the attacks of Dutch and Marathas. It is one of the major heritage sites in Goa.

RIVER CRUISE - MANDOVI RIVER

River cruise is one the top things to do in Goa. The river cruise starts from Santa Monica Boat Jetty and Panaji Jetty on Mandovi river on old Panaji road. Especially evening sunset cruise is a beautiful experience. The cruise tips are usually accompanied by Goan cultural activities like Music,Dance,etc.

BASILICA OF BOM JESUS

The famous Bom Jesus Basilica is a part of UNESCO World Heritage site. It is also called as St.Xavier’s Tomb. The church is often represented in the promotion of Goa tourism.

BAGA BEACH

This beach is bordered by Calangute Beach and Anjuna Beach. This beach is famous for its beach shacks and delicious sea foods.The night life at Baga is more exciting than its days. As the sun sets down,party mode is switched-on.

SHRI MANGUESHI TEMPLE

It is a major pilgrimage site of Goa state. Shri Manguehi Temple is one of the largest,wealthiest and most popular Hindu shrines in Goa.

MIRAMAR BEACH

Miramar beach is in the Goan capital, Panaji. It is situated at the confluence of the Mandovi river and the Arabian sea.
