With the leadership of our honourable prime minister Narendra Modi, India took a step in the club of tallest statues in the world through The Statue Of Unity.

The Statue Of Unity is the world's tallest statue, of the independence activist and leader Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. He was India's first deputy prime minister.

This statue is located in Gujarat about 100-kilometre southeast of Vadodara. It is constructed on the river island called sadhu bet.

The first special thing about this statue is that it is 182 metres high, leaving all others behind. It is designed by ram Vanji Suthar who has been awarded Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan for his outstanding contribution in arts. The main statue has cost 2989 crores and built in less than 5 years.

The statue is divided into 5 zones to visit but only 3 of them are accessible to the public.
The Ist zone which are the legs of Patel contains a beautiful garden and a museum to visit. The museum shows all the contributions of Sardar Patel with an audiovisual presentation based on Patel's life. For this 2 lifts have been made which carry 26 people each at a time. The 2nd zone is the thighs of Patel at 149 metres. The 3rd zone displays a gallery.

The surroundings are lit with the view of the Narmada river, where people can have a boat ride. There has also been a 3-star hotel constructed which is accessible to the people. A 320 metres long bridge connects to the mainland which gives an eye-catching view.

Many people think that it is only a symbol for a political leader leaving the conditions of poor the same as earlier. But this project provided employment opportunities to the poor as well. This is a must to visit place for everyone at least once in a lifetime.
