As I said, in my previous article, India is full of myths and folk tales. So, that really did not cover even half of the mysteries that lie in the nooks and corners of our vast country. Therefore, here are some more mysterious places that you definitely want to have a look at…

  1. Sabarimala, in Kerala.

Festivals are an integral part of India and one such festival is Makar Sankranti which is celebrated with grandeur in the temple of Sabarimala in Kerala. Well, that is just not it. During this festival, a rather mysterious and strange phenomenon takes place. A kind of celestial lightning is spotted on one particular hilltop. Hindus believe that this one is none other than the act of Lord Ayyappan, a deity, who asserts himself to bless his devotees. Well, it is the people's belief and who are we to shake that.

2.Dumas Beach, in Gujarat.

This beautiful beach, which is famous for its black sand, in Gujarat, is not only an amazing tourist spot for the visitors to sit and relax, but also has an ominous air about it. You will be surprised to know that this place is also a cremation ground where people claim to have experienced several paranormal activities. Apparently, it is heard that taking an evening stroll in the beach is really not a very pleasant idea as while doing so, one may end up being in a strange place, away from civilization.

To prove this fact, there have been shreds of evidence where tourists have missing in the past, as is reported by many. Locals, therefore warn the visitors to not venture on this particular beach at night. Mysterious, indeed!

3.KukkarahalliLake, in Mysore.

Imagine, you are on a bike trip with your friends, on a highway, laughing and enjoying your heart out, then all of a sudden, you realize that you are not the only one sitting on your own bike. And, no, nor are any of your friends. Sounds like a story, doesn't it? Well, let me correct you there because it is anything but a story. Bikers, who have crossed the Kukkarahalli Lake, in Mysore, during late hours of the night, send a warning. For some unexplainable reason, the engine stops working till the entire stretch is passed. Or worse, if you are a lone rider, you might experience someone sitting on the back of your bike. Spooky enough!

Well, that is all. I know there isn’t any lack of stories, but one has to stop somewhere. And once again, it is completely upon us to believe whether they are just stories, or not.

Not satisfied with the above 'stories'? Want to know about more such spooky places, then click on the link below to read the Part-I of this
